How Rank Checks Work
What this is
SERPscope checks where your website appears in search results for each keyword you track.
This shows whether your rankings are improving, dropping, or staying the same over time.
What happens when you track keywords
When you start tracking keywords, SERPscope:
- Checks each keyword you added
- Collects your ranking positions
- Stores the results and shows them in your dashboard
This gives you a clear view of how your website is performing.
How often rankings update
Check frequency depends on your plan:
- Free: weekly checks (every 168 hours), depth 50 only
- Standard and Pro: daily checks (every 24 hours), with optional Enhanced depth 100 per project
Each keyword uses credits per check (4 at depth 50, 8 at depth 100). Scheduled checks skip when you do not have enough credits. Page insights cost 10 credits per run (24-hour cache repeats are free).
What affects your rankings
Your rankings can change based on:
- Location
- Device (desktop or mobile)
- Competition in search results
- Changes you make to your website
This is why rankings can move even without major updates.
